Shaping therapies for
rare diseases yourself

CureRare supports patient organizations and researchers on the path to new therapies for rare diseases. We connect patient organizations and researchers.

We coach patient organizations and, if desired, coordinate all necessary steps of a research project. If required, we also provide support in applying for funding.

Not enough research on rare diseases

More than 8,000 rare diseases are known in the world. A disease is considered rare if it affects no more than 5 in 10,000 people.

In the EU alone, it is assumed that about 10% of the population has a rare disease – that is more than 30 million people.

However, only 5% of the known rare diseases have a treatment to date. Research is being conducted on only a few of them. And often the road to research is arduous and slow.

CureRare can change this. We accompany patient organizations on their way to new therapies for rare diseases. And we also offer advice and support for research organizations to set up research projects for rare diseases the right way from the start.

We believe that the key to therapy is cooperation between the different stakeholders. To improve this in the different phases of a research project, we offer workshops in which patient organizations and researchers participate together.
